the other type 2 class is going to do aftereffects as their next project. if you could give them 1 or 2 tips how to learn aftereffects, how to set up a file, how to do ___. what would that be?

  1. if you are working with sound start working with it right from the beginning. You will be frustrated after having everything the way you want just to put sound on and find out you have to rearrange everything so the time is right.

  2. DEFINITELY agree w/ Jamie. Also- for the love of god, you only need ONE camera. Try not to wind up with seven if you value your sanity.

On that note, when you're working with 3D layers & a camera, it's easier to just copy & paste the previous text layer (then re-type whatever the next bit is on the copied layer) than to add a whole new text layer from scratch. That way you don't have to spend forever adjusting the position/axises/whatever to get the new text layer to sync up with the old text layer. (That sounds confusing but when they get into 3D camera layers, they'll see what I mean.)
